Date/time: October 17th 10am – 11.30am
Location: Cheadle Community Library
The talk will take place at Cheadle Library and be given by Judy Hubble, who is an accomplished speaker and very knowledgeable about Patrick Lichfield and his life.
Patrick Lichfield was a highly renowned photographer born in 1939, as Thomas Patrick John Anson – a grandson of the 4th Earl of Lichfield. Patrick received his first camera aged 6, which quickly got him into trouble, when he photographed a relative during a cricket match. The relative in question, was Princess Elizabeth of York – the future Queen Elizabeth II.
After being educated Harrow and Sandhurst, then serving as an officer in the Grenadier Guards, Patrick decided to pursue a career in photography. As a result, his parents cut off his allowance and he was forced to forge his own path, taking the professional name of Patrick Lichfield.
He went on to be one of the UK’s best-known photographers and a pioneer of digital photography.
The talk is free to attend, but booking a space via the library front desk is essential. This can either be done in person in the library, or by telephone (01538 332068).
