AGM & Planning for 2025

There was an impressive turnout of people to the AGM and first planning meeting. We also enjoyed the attendance of a few new people who have agreed to join a Steering Group for the upcoming Festival programme in October 2025.

Collaboration

Everyone in the meeting agreed that Collaboration is vital to the success of large scale events in the town. The programme of events for the festival period is very varied and relies on the town’s volunteer groups to either contribute to joint events, or propose something they will organise.

There were some fantastic suggestions coming forward today from the groups represented. The events section of this website will start to be populated soon.

The benefit of the Steering Group is that representatives will be able to feedback the Festival’s ethos and proposed activities to their groups to see what can be achieved together. The other benefit is they can attend a steering group meeting safe in the knowledge that they are not about to be landed with a hands-on task! Although we did give all the attendees a long, meaningful look at the section of the meeting where we were needing to vote in a Secretary. (If anyone knows someone who is good at taking minutes, please send them our way!).
