Community Creativity is a Winner

One of the real highlights of this year’s Arts Festival was seeing how fully the local community — from schools and Scouts to individual artists and photographers — got behind the art and photography competitions.

Children from local schools and Scout groups showed wonderful imagination and enthusiasm, filling the Children’s Art Competition with colour, creativity, and joy. It was fantastic to see how many young people took part and how proud they were to see their work displayed.

Meanwhile, the photo competition drew an impressive range of entries from both secondary-aged students and adults, each showing real thought, effort, and a unique eye for detail. Visitors at the Showcase Day particularly enjoyed viewing the displays and voting for their favourite pieces, adding a fun, interactive element to the event.

A huge thank you goes to Louie and Lee from Alton Camera Club, whose hard work in setting up the displays and managing the photographic competition helped everything run so smoothly. Thanks also to Gelato & Cakes for their valued support with the Children’s Art Competition.

At the end of the event, the talented winners were presented with vouchers to spend locally at participating Cheadle retailers, celebrating both their creativity and our vibrant local businesses.

It was a truly inspiring day that showed just how much creativity, collaboration, and pride there is in our community — and a wonderful reminder of what the Arts Festival is all about.
