Cheadle Arts is committed to encouraging equality, diversity and inclusion among our team of organisers and volunteers, and eliminating unlawful discrimination. The desire is for our team to be truly representative of all sections of society. We want each and every member to feel respected and able to give their best. The organisation is also committed to eliminating unlawful discrimination of third parties or the artists and communities we serve.

Our policy’s purpose

1. Provide equality, fairness and respect for all in our employment, whether permanent or temporary, part-time or full-time, or voluntary.

2. Not unlawfully discriminate because of the Equality Act 2010 protected characteristics of:

  • disability
  • gender reassignment
  • marriage and civil partnership
  • pregnancy and maternity
  • race (including colour, nationality, and ethnic or national origin)
  • religion or belief
  • sex
  • sexual orientation

 3. Oppose and avoid all forms of unlawful discrimination. This includes discrmination within:

  • dealing with grievances and discipline
