Categories:
- 11 to 18 age group
- Adult 19+ years
Judging: All photographs will be displayed and judged by the public on 19th October.
Entry: One entry per person and entry is free of charge. Please bring your photographs to the Guild Hall on 19th October between 9:30am – 11:30am and collect them between 4pm and 5pm (or leave us a SAE if you cannot collect).
Prizes will be awarded in both age categories. Prizes will be vouchers to spend in participating Cheadle retailers.

General Rules for All Participants
Eligibility:
- Categories: Participants must enter the correct category:
- School-aged Children: 11-17
- Adults: Anyone aged 18 and above.
- Original Work: All entries must be original works of the participant and not previously published or entered in other competitions.
Submission Guidelines:
- Submission Format: Entries must be printed photographs. Digital submissions will not be accepted.
- Photo Size: Prints should be between 20.3 x 25.4cm (8×10 inches) and 30.5 x 40.6cm (12 x16 inches).
- Mounting Photographs can be mounted on card optional. Max size for mounts 50 x 40cm. No frames or glass allowed.
- Identification Each entry should have the participant’s name, contact information, and category clearly written on a label stuck to the back of the photo or mount board. Please add social media addresses if you would like to be tagged in relevant posts.
Content Guidelines:
- Theme Light and Dark, but should be appropriate for a family-friendly audience.
- Editing: Minor digital enhancements for cropping, colour correction, and cleaning up dust spots are allowed. Major alterations or composites are not permitted.
Submission Process:
- Deadline: All entries must be submitted to the Guild Hall on 19th October 9:30 to 11:30 am.
- Number of Entries: Each participant may submit One entry only.
Judging Criteria:
Public vote on the day.
Specific Rules for 11 to 17 year olds
- Parental Consent: Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult. Over 16s must bring a signed consent form that should be submitted along with the entries. Specific Rules for Adults
- Professional and Amateur: Both professional and amateur photographers are welcome. Please indicate your status when submitting your entry. Display and Judging
- Public Display: All accepted entries will be displayed at the Guild Hall during the Arts Showcase and Artisan Market event.
- Community Judging: The community will have the opportunity to vote for their favourite photos. Voting will take place throughout the event and will close at 3pm.
- Announcement of Winners: Winners will be announced at The Guild Hall at 4pm, and prizes will be awarded at this time.
Prizes
- Awards: Prizes will be awarded for 1st and 2nd places in each category. Cheadle Arts may award additional prizes at its discretion.
- Special Mentions: Additional special mentions may be given for outstanding entries.
Legal and Rights
- Usage Rights: By entering the competition, participants grant the festival the right to display their photographs at the event and use them in promotional materials for future festivals. Credit will always be given to the photographer.
- Return of Entries: Entries must be collected on the day or provide a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Entries not collected by the end of the day will not be returned.
